Mary Hanson

Office Manager

Mary has been with First Pres since 2018. She has deep roots in Connecticut: growing up on a farm Berlin in a home built by her great-grandfather. She has deep roots in Hartford as well: having moved to our beautiful city in 1987 and into downtown in 2001. She loves seeing how Hartford is changing and being revived. Mary also has deep roots in the Church: she grew up as a sexton’s kid in a UCC congregation. Throughout her childhood, her family spent every Saturday cleaning the church and getting things ready for Sunday. Her special job was vacuuming the red carpet in the sanctuary.

For over 30 years, she was an active member of an urban congregation in Hartford. She has been a licensed minister and has had the privilege of traveling on missionary trips to preach in Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.
